• Szakszon Balázs (420 BEST Challenger
II, 131R Alto Prestige):
Born in 1977 in Budapest, Balázs
Szakszon started to learn music at the age of six. Following his
elementary studies, he was admitted to the Leó Weiner Musical
Secondary School, where his teacher was Péter Foltyn. In
1997 he became student of the prestigious Franz Liszt Music Academy
of Budapest, where his professor is Ferenc Steiner. A prize winner
at several brass competitions (1993 Prague, 1995 Passau, etc.),
he was from 2000 principal trombone player of the MÁV Symphony
Orchestra. As of 2002, he is leader of the trombone section of the
Budapest Festival Orchestra. In 2003 he won the Sándor Végh
Competition of BFO musicians.

• Balogh Sándor (500 BR Orchestra):
Sándor Balogh was born in 1958 in Sátoraljaújhely
(North-Eastern Hungary). Having completed his secondary school
studies in Miskolc (where his teacher was Mrs.Ferenc Nemes) he
was admitted to the Franz Liszt Music Academy of Budapest where
he studied with László Ujfalusi and graduated in
1982. From 1980 to 1992 he was member of the Symphony Orchestra
of the Hungarian Radio. He performs regularly in the Luxembourg-based
"European Soloists" Orchestra and with the Pro Brass
chamber music formation. He became member of the trombone section
of the Budapest Festival Orchestra in 1992. Sándor Balogh
pursues a wide-ranging activity also as a composer. He has orchestrated
and arranged a lot of compositions of lighter music to different
instrumental groups, ranging from string quartet to symphony orchestra.
As a composer he won several prizes at international competitions
of radio stations: 1995 Monte Carlo - 1st prize, 1997 Brno - 2nd
prize, 2001 Sanghai - 3rd prize.

• Bálint I. Péter (zum Test:
410 GM):
Born in 1967 in Oroszlány, he learned first
the violin and started to play the trombone only in 1979. Having
graduated from the Musical Secondary School of Gyõr in
1984, he was admitted to the Gyõr Faculty of the Franz
Liszt Academy of Music and became at the same time member of the
Philharmonic Orchestra of Gyõr. In 1985 he won 2nd, in
1987 1st prize at the National Youth Brass Competition, followed
in 1988 by his victory at the János Richter National Competition.
From 1988 he continued his studies at the Franz Liszt Academy
of Music in Budapest, his professor was László Ujfalusi.
He obtained his diploma in 1991. From 1989 he has been playing
in the orchestra of the Hungarian National Opera House. Since
1992 he has been member of the trombone section of the Budapest
Festival Orchestra.

November 12th 2003: The TROMBONE SECTION
from BUDAPEST FESTIVAL ORCHESTRA tested a big variety
of Courtois trombones at Wenzel Meinl GmbH (a member of
JA Musik GmbH) and chose their instruments together with
Mr Jacques Gaudet and Mr Vincent Ribes who organized and
celebrated on the same day the 200th anniversary of Antoine
Courtois Brasswind Manufacturing with an opening concert
and a 4 week longlasting exhibition at MusicalInstrumentMuseum
in the CityMuseum of Munich.
